Todays racebook times were incorrect by half an hour

Race 1 - MURRAY McCOMBE MAIDEN PLATE 1600 METRES.

Approaching the 1200 metres Zanzibar Island was hampered when tightened for room between Windy Bill and Gianduga, which shifted in away from Triple Chance.

Approaching the 1100 metres Ahs 'N' Ums, which was over racing, shifted out and as a consequence Julia Creek had to be checked off that filly's heel.

Approaching the 900 Desert Bombers had to be eased off the heels Pagano, which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Miss K Walters was notified she must be clear when shifting ground in future.

Approaching the 200 metres Julia Creek had to be eased of the heel of Our Poetic Dream, which shifted in slightly under pressure.

Race 2 - TOM CALLAWAY MAIDEN PLATE 1100 METRES

Approaching the 900 metres La Pepita was tightened for room between, Matriarch, which shifted out slightly, and Health Check, which when racing greenly and was taken in by Merlin's Magic. L Irwin was notified that she must be clear of other runners when shifting ground in future. Shortly after this incident Health Check, which continued to race greenly, shifted out and hampered Vain Dust and Jamaica Again.

Portcullis after passing the 200 metres had difficulty obtaining a clear run.

Approaching the 800 Protr cali shifted in away from Press For Time and became Unbalanced.

Race 3 - SUPER VOBIS THREE YEAR OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1100 METRES

Tamari Jayne which became cast in the barriers was then removed and inspected by the club veterinary surgeon, who reported that the filly was unfit to race. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Tamari Jayne at 1.11.pm. Subsequent to the race all successful bets on the horses prior to the time of withdrawal of Tamari Jayne were subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win bets 3 cents, place bets 4 cents, winning concession bets 3 cents and double bets 3 cents. All monies bet after the declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of the ticket.

Dale Missen rider, of Equivalent was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Boogieman and Ah Geo, resulting in Boogieman having to be checked and Ah Geo being hampered. D. Missen's permit to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on midnight 8th June and to expire at midnight 27th June

Shortly after the start Canny Circle which began awkwardly shifted out then hampered Lord Vasey

Approaching the 400 metres Ah Geo had to be eased off the heels of Lord Vasey, which shifted out.

Race 4 - RON ISBEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200 METRES.

Desert Wolf was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon prior to the start of the race and passed fit to run.

After passing the 100 metres Tough Times had to be checked when tightened for room, between Check The Silver, which shifted in slightly and Baldock which was brushed by tough times which also shifted in slightly resulting in Baldock shifting out when attempting to take a narrow run on the outside of Galway Sparkle which also shifted out slightly. As stewards as stewards had some doubt that B. Rawiller was fully responsible for the interference. Stewards took no action other than to severely reprimand and notified him that he must be sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.

Race 5 - J J O'CONNOR & SONS CLASS 3 HANDICAP 2000 METRES

Gothic Empire was found to be lame in the near fore leg, must produce a veterinary certificate before racing again.

Turning out of the straight of the first time, Glasspark Miss had a tendency to over race.

After passing the 400 metres McHutch was slightly hampered by Keeping Promises which shifted out to obtain a narrow run on the outside of Spanish Steps.

Race 6 - TOOHNEYS NEW CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1600 METRES

At the start Regal Ark stood flat footed and lost ground.

Race 7 - FRED GOUIN 42 YEARS SERVICE CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1100 METRES

As Swamwater could not be loaded on to the float stewards withdrew the gelding at 12.12pm

Ron Aitken rider of 4th placegetter viewed the stewards patrol film of the start of the race as in his opinon he was concerned he was denied a fair start. After viewing the film, he decided not to lodge an objection and correct weight was declared.

Race 8 - AMOR MOTORS NISSAN CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1600 METRES

After passing the 400 metres K. Walters rider of Indecorum dropped her offside rein.

An inquiry into the reason D. Missen checking near the 300 metres was adjourned due to J. Barnett had left the course.

An inquiry into the riding tactics on "Baron of Lockhart" was adjourned to a date to be fixed as Stewards were unable to interview jockey M. Hagley and Trainer Geoff Dodson.

Darren Weir was fined the sum of $30 for using the wrong colours on Portcullis

Race 3:
M Pumpa was severely reprimanded for accepting two rides in the race

Race 8:
Stewards accepted the explanation of Nigel Kidd trainer of La Fornarina for the late notification of his rider.
