Hi everybody

I would like to introduce myself to the people of the Torquay and Geelong region. My name is Joerg Jendras. Joerg is the German version of George,
but it sounds like "Yurg". In the past people had a lot of problems with my
name. They have called me Kurt, Erik, Jurgen or even "Yurg from Yurgenstein". Because of that I decided to give my practice a colourful name -

Cavallo Equine Vet Service ~ Cavallo is Italian and means horse.

Growing up in Germany, I was a keen showjumping rider. Today I take it a little bit easier, but I
have my own horse again. After 9 years of working as a horse vet I had almost forgotten how nice
it is to have a horse. Nowadays, I really enjoy the contact without thinking about competing.

I graduated in Germany in 1994 and worked there in large practices concentrating mainly on the performance horse sector. I moved to Australia in 2001, and successfully completed my Australian veterinary accreditation. Since then, I worked in a pleasure and performance horse practice with a large breeding component. I have spent considerable time working in a racing practice and also at the University of Melbourne's Equine Centre at Werribee where I am still employed on a casual basis.

I am excited to be moving in to my own practice. My practice includes radiography, pathology and ultrasonography. I am well trained in equine dentistry.  Lameness treatment, internal medicine and sport medicine are particular areas of my interest.
I am open to alternative medicine and I include homeopathy in many of my treatments.

I have established excellent working relationships with a network of Equine Specialists (Ophthalmology, Surgery, Internal medicine) in Victoria and I will readily refer horses or seek
second opinions as necessary in my client's best interests.

I look forward to meeting and helping many interesting people and of course, their horses,
in my new venture here in Torquay.
